This weekend’s art selection is a blog, wrd.wthn.wrd.wthn.wrd. Run by a Georgian known as “troylloyd”, the blog is highly influenced by the asemic writing movement; one beyond automatic writing (or my own tendencies towards agrammaticism), asemism gives the premises of semantics up and presents text and images as simple pieces of “furniture of the world”. It’s got “a good look” and should make you think about the functions of our projects on the Web a little more critically.

Thanks, troylloyd: It’s always good to get exposed to what’s happening, which isn’t always happening where you are (seems like Atlanta produces a lot of good amateur-intellectual blogs). You may, however, be interested in the oeuvre of Manley Hubbell, a precursor who made Kibo’s head hurt.

hey, sorry about the dubbel-comment, i didn’t know how to delete it.
it’s cool you use the term “amateur-intellectual”, i’ve always dug the autodidactic passion angle, bur for awhile it seems in usa there was a decline w/ amateur intellectuals combined w/ a great hostility & distrust toward anything intellectual, but online access has greatly helped in recovering that lost independent voice, giving equal platform, & continuing the great American tradition of self-publishing. (i’m a bit of a romantic idealist about the internet sometimes, tho sometimes i’m troubled by its ” absent presence”)
Atlanta really is a great town, i miss living in the city, i’m 1 hour north now & end up missing out on alotta cultural activity, but hopefully soon i can scratch up enough to move back & get with the thick of things.
i’ll look into Manley Hubbell.
