The Dolls were my favorite band of all time during a period early this decade, with their sleazy but life-affirming message; I’ve basically missed out on David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain’s re-formed group. There is good live material from the ’70s on YouTube, including this clip of “Trash” from Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert (commenters say the applause is dubbed in, and the audience was actually booing). Enjoy.
